Prestigious Gearhart Getaway on the Oregon Coast 3 Bedrooms | 3 Bathrooms | Sleeps More than 8 | River Front | Home/Villa Email the owners for reservation This beautiful fully remodeled home (2002) in prestigious Gearhart makes the perfect getaway for the busy executive, the active family, or the traveling retiree. Our Gearhart Getaway has three large bedrooms and three full baths and sleeps as many as 10 people. The kitchen is fully updated and has a new gas range, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The living room adjoining the kitchen has a gas fireplace and large picture window which looks out over the tranquil, treed lot adjoining Neacoxie Creek. Downstairs is an entertainment room with surround sound for viewing movies using the home theater system. The house is fully wired with the latest technology allowing for internet access to keep you up-to-date with your email correspondance. The home is located on Neacoxie Creek - just six blocks from the Pacific Ocean - where local lore says that the Indians would canoe up the creek to Astoria where they did their trading. Our 1/3 acre grassy lot, which backs up to the creek, has a beautiful view of tall evergreen trees directly across the creek, and a northern view of the creek as it winds its way through Gearhart. The spacious cedar deck on the back of the house is a perfect place to unwind as you enjoy watching the ducks, blue herons, racoons, and occasionally, beavers. Gearhart is the getaway destination for many of Portland's wealthy families and boasts a wonderful, mostly private stretch of beach where sand dollars abound. At the quaint four-way intersection that makes up Gearhart's downtown area, you'll find Pacific Way Bakery and Restaurant where you can get your espresso or latte and fresh-baked goods to get your day going. You'll also find several antique stores there to stop and browse in after your stroll on the beach. In the afternoons you can get your tee time at Gearhart Golf Course or travel 15 minutes either direction on highway 101 to the Highlands or Seaside Golf Courses. While Gearhart is quiet and relaxed, you can get your fill of activity and shopping in neighboring Seaside, Cannon Beach, or Astoria. Seaside boasts a promenade with many restaurants, shops, and an unbelievable arcade for kids of all ages - even for those over ages 40, 50, or 60! It also has a large factory outlet mall and a multi-screen movie theater that features the newest releases. Cannon Beach is known for its many shops - most notably its numerous art galleries. Astoria is one of the oldest cities on the west coast and marks the end of the mighty Columbia River's journey to the Pacific Ocean. Address and Driving Directions: Gearhart, Oregon 97138 From Portland International Airport, take Interstate 205 south to Interstate 84 west following signs to Portland. Get on Interstate 5 south toward Salem and follow signs to Highway 26 west and Beaverton/Ocean Beaches. Stay on highway 26 west to Seaside (for approximately an hour and a half) and when you reach highway 101, head north into Seaside.
